 That's alright. I wanted the background to look like a harsh, bright light (so the shadows could make more sense). But yes, backgrounds are nice.  Just keep challenging yourself, and try improving little by little (rather than stressing over the need to improve large parts). It'll take time, but I find that trying to make at least one tiny thing in each artwork I produce better than the last helped me get to where I am. Good luck~! |

Beautiful is word that I would describe this. The shading, the technique, the vision you were going for. It's beautiful.
I might be nitpicking here, though, about the background. Sorry! I know you worked hard on this sketch card. But it would be nice to see a little detailed background here.
Other than that, it's absolutely gorgeous. I see the expression fits Jay so clearly.
....*flips a table* Why can't I do something like this?!
Oh well, I'll get there. Keep it up as you have a fine eye for drawing and for shading.
